Making a Vintage Crochet Long Line Tapestry Waistcoat Vest

Would you dare to wear so much color? I would. I think it's beautiful, and so retro. I did not purchase the pattern. I saw the picture and followed the pattern of colors, working with the yarn I already had at home. I'm thinking of placing sleeves on the vest.

I like it better with sleeves.

I have been busy crocheting retro projects; some-thing that I really enjoy, not only retro projects but the beauty of crochet.  I made this dress, a maxi skirt, and another vest. All vintage inspiration.

I want to wish you a wonderful day full of things that you love and help you grow to be the best that you can be.

A New Shabby Chic Painting

Yesterday I painted this shabby chic inspired painting. I always have fun, especially splashing paint everywhere. I'm really satisfied with the result. I love it.

Have a wonderful day and blessings always

Merry Christmas Friends

Merry Christmas dear friends. This year I decorated my Christmas tree pink; I think that I wanted simplicity and softness in my decoration. My 10 year old boy helped me to decorate, and he displayed all my village collection. He's so excited for Christmas.

The red pickup truck with the Christmas tree actually is a telephone that I bought in a flea market for $2.00 The only thing I don't like about the phone is that when it rings I think it's the smoke alarm.
I made some paper houses. I found the patterns at Martha Stewart's web site.

I want to wish you a Merry Christmas full of unforgettable  moments, and a happy New Year

Plaid Deer Head Wall Mount

After browsing on line I found a plaid deer head that Target was selling; but the item is currently unavailable. I found this deer head pattern Here I made some changes on the pattern. I really liked how it turned out.

like you can see in the picture, I made some changes on the pattern. I just added 1" more around the line of the middle of head pattern.

I made my antler pattern  longer.
And placed a piece of cardboard on the back of the deer to mount it better on the wall.
The tutorial on the page where I found the pattern is really helpful on the sewing part, but I found out in the process of making this project that inserting wire in the antler helped shape the antler. I inserted 2 wooden sticks of about 10" in length inside the head of the antler to help the antler remain strait. It's a good idea to insert the wooden sticks when you are  stuffing the deer head.

Christmas Decoration

I wanted to share with you my Christmas decoration around my small cosy house. I made all the ornaments; it's something that I really enjoy doing every year. I cut out of wood some Emerson light bulb ornaments, made clothes-peg snowflakes ornaments, painted pine cones with silver spray; they look like mercury blown glass pine cones, and my husband cut some wood slices for me. I was surprised that in the craft store wood slices sell at $1 dollar each; I knew that we could cut some wood slices ourselves. I like my rustic Christmas tree.
Crochet birds that I made years ago, they are so cute.

I want to wish you a happy Christmas full of joy and peace in company of your loved ones.
