My casual chaise longue

I always wanted one of those long chairs or day beds where you can put your legs up and relax or read a juicy book. So I went to a thrift store and I found a couple of chairs. I removed the cushions and I cut off the arms of one  chair for the end support. I bought a piece of plywood and made a round cut at both ends following the shape of the chairs. Then, I upholstered the long piece of wood, and painted the chairs.

I nailed tacks around the cushion edge for a finished look.

I really love how it turned out. I think it looks chic painted in white.
I painted this little side table. I love it.

This is amazing!!! I have always wanted one also, but my space is not big enough for a traditional size lounge, but now I can make one to fit my space. This is so doable- thank you so much for sharing such a fantastic and creative idea!!!!!

I have went through your blog and loved the things you have transformed. Your talent is amazing. I beg to differ with you, you are truly an artist. Maybe self taught, but a true artist. Don't ever sell yourself short. God gives many talents and it seems he gave you a boat load. Keep doing the things you love and I hope you will drop by and visit me. I will be back to see what you are up too.

Saw it linked on Pinterest. FINALLY a decent use for those tacky burnt orange and olive green velvet 1950s-70s "tub chairs"!
